The watches and historical data I.part
The first watches were pocket watches and were made in 1511. They were all completely of iron and have a cylindrical shape - the basic mechanical movement was then still a "big" and so cylindrical shape better to allow insertion into the housing movement. In this time they were not still much too much experience of metal alloys - Watches so were made entirely of iron, which corresponded with their weight. Compared to today's they was really hard, but at that time the weight was irrelevant. First time customers can carry with them, which was amazing comfort. And the popularity of time in the pocket was growing.
